Third Reich Nazi Wood Decorative Box 1942. On the lid there are four ‘rays’ that we believe were made from Masur Birch which is only found in Western Russia and Finland. The rest of the box appears to have been constructed of cedar and mahogany. The swastika was probably made from ebony, the white portion was possibly made from holly and the swastika’s background was possible made from Pernambuco (the same material that fine violin bows are made from and no longer legal to import).
